Tuscaloosa, a city filled with charm, history, and some of the most beautiful neighborhoods you’ll find in Alabama. Today, we’re diving into neighborhoods with one very ‘cool’ feature… their own pools!
Let’s start with Highgrove. Highgrove is a new development north of the river based on a blend of English Arts and Crafts architecture and the landscape design philosophies of Frederick Law Olmstead. The developers goal was to create a simple yet elegant setting for village living along roads and streets which bend to nature rather than tread over it. The highlight of this community is the large neighborhood pool. Other amenities that Highgrove homeowners enjoy include playgrounds, dog parks, basketball and tennis courts, and pedestrian bridges for accessing wooded, preserved areas and connecting neighborhoods through walking trails.
Next on our list is Reston Place. Offering both tranquility and community, its pool area is a hub of activity during the warmer months, and a great spot for families and friends to gather. Reston Place is also a north of the river community, but it is super convenient to both downtown Northport and downtown Tuscaloosa. The neighborhood is a mix of townhouses and homes, and is a popular, more affordable option for buyers wanting to be in 35406.
Indian Hills & North River Yacht Club are two country club communities in Tuscaloosa and of course, both have incredible neighborhood pools. There is a catch though. The amenities in these two north of the river neighborhoods are only enjoyed by residents who also pay for a country club membership. Pool access is not included as part of the HOA benefits like the other neighborhoods talked about in this video.
Stillwater offers a serene escape, and its pool provides residents a calm oasis, perfect for quiet afternoons under the sun. With a focus on simplicity and serenity, the Stillwater community sits in the heart of North River just steps away from Heritage House North, Rock Quarry Elementary and The Shops of Lake Tuscaloosa. This brand new boutique community features only 25 homesites on this beautiful cul-de-sac, which gives Stillwater a smaller community atmosphere without missing the everyday happenings of North River.
Modern, sleek, and sophisticated – that’s Pinnacle Park for you. Residents of this north of the river town home community enjoy an equally modern pool area. Located north of the river adjacent to The Townes of North River neighborhood, this neighborhood is popular with both home buyers and those looking for an upscale rental option.
Woodland Hills, as the name suggests, is surrounded by nature. This neighborhood of 325 single-family homes in eastern Tuscaloosa was incorporated in 1957. Woodland Hills is known for its well built homes, landscaped yards, diverse neighbors, and great location. Architectural styles vary from Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired to traditional Cape Cod. The neighborhood pool is in the center of the community and is a popular spot to meet neighbors in the summer!
Last, but certainly not least, Mallard Creek. As the name suggests, water is a big feature here! If you are looking to live in south Tuscaloosa, and a neighborhood pool is a must on your home buying wish list– Mallard Creek is the neighborhood for you. It doesn’t hurt that the homes are beautiful and sit on large lots!
There you have it, Tuscaloosa’s top neighborhoods with pools. Each offers its own unique charm and environment, but they all guarantee a splash of fun.”
