Location:
The Townes of North River is situated along Rice Mine Road NE about 7 miles from downtown Tuscaloosa and 10 miles from the University of Alabama campus. The elementary public school, Rock Quarry Elementary is just across the street!
Housing:
The neighborhood is primarily made up of single-family homes and garden homes, with a few townhomes along the main park. The homes range in size from 1,780 to 6,210 square feet, with 3 to 6 bedrooms and 2 to 6 bathrooms. The townhomes are all located on Courtneyanna PL and the garden homes are located in the Yorkshire section of the neighborhood. Most homes have attached garages and private yards.
Amenities:
The Townes of North River offers several amenities to its residents, including 4 playgrounds and a large green space called Founders Park. Our neighborhood actually connects to the Sokol mountain biking and walking trails, allowing residents to hike or make it to baseball or soccer practice at Sokol North without ever getting in a car. There are well kept sidewalks throughout the neighborhood making it easy to walk or ride bikes to Heritage House, the local coffee shop and restaurant at the entrance of the neighborhood.

In 2022, 25 homes sold in the neighborhood ranging from $448,000 up to $930,000 with an average price per square foot of $202.28. The average days on market for the neighborhood was 21. So far in 2023, seven homes have sold in the neighborhood ranging in price from $485,000 to $1,150,000.
Schools:
The neighborhood is served by Tuscaloosa City Schools, and residents have access to several highly rated schools, including Rock Quarry Elementary School, Northridge Middle & High School. As for shopping, Confetti Interiors, Beverly’s, and Ivey House are all within a minute’s drive and are among some of our favorite shops in town!
