Tricia’s Top 5

There is so much to see and do in Tuscaloosa! The city is steadily growing, and each month I’ll be sharing my Tuscaloosa Top 5.
Let’s start with my current favorite family spot, The Randall Family Park and Trailhead at the Northern Riverwalk. The park is officially open and my kids loved it! The park includes a trailhead, recreational path, playground, pavilion, and parking area. This beautiful addition to our community was made possible by a generous donation from the Randall family.

You can’t talk about the best of Tuscaloosa, without mentioning the amazing non-profits supporting our community. This month’s pick is Secret Meals for Hungry Children. Their goal is to decrease the number of children facing hunger over the weekend. Many children rely heavily on free and reduced meals while at school. However, the weekends create a nutritional gap leaving many children hungry when they return to school on Monday. Secret Meals is able to fill this gap with the help of volunteers and donors. It cost approximately $140 to feed one child for an entire school year. Secret Meals for Hungry Children is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, making any contribution tax deductible. There is certainly no shortage of great restaurants in Tuscaloosa including my weekly lunch spot, Thai Basil Sushi on University Blvd. It replaced Surin on the strip.
The same could be said for local boutiques– if you are visiting Tuscaloosa, you’ll want to allow plenty of time for shopping! This month’s pick is Part II Tuscaloosa. Part II is a women’s boutique located in the Tuscaloosa Galleria. The friendly staff will help you find an outfit for any occasion.

And lastly, what kind of agent would I be if I didn’t mention a new listing? My new listing, 8625 Forrestal Drive NE, is a custom-built, luxury home in North River Yacht Club overlooking Lake Tuscaloosa. Home includes 5 bed/ 3.5 bath, plus an office, bonus room & a playroom and sits on 3 acres. The master bath will take your breath away with the elaborate tile shower containing 10 shower heads, a soaking tub w/ quartz surround and double vanity. Outside you’ll find a fabulous entertaining space including a saltwater pool, patio, and kitchen. This one-of-a-kind property is listed for $1.6 million. Call me if you would like to schedule a private showing.
