What’s New in Tuscaloosa

Welcome back to our blog! Today, we’re highlighting Tuscaloosa’s newest businesses! Tuscaloosa is not only known for its college football and Southern charm but also for its growing business community. In this video, we’ll be showcasing 6 exciting new businesses that have recently sprouted up in Tuscaloosa. Let’s get started!

Our first featured business is “Moonshot Creamery.” They are a small-batch ice cream shop with 20 rotating flavors and inventive toppings +  a unique selection of wines. Located on the Tuscaloosa Riverwalk, they’re the perfect stop on a leisurely stroll.

Next up, we have “Good Dog” Bar, Dog Park and Pet Resort. This massive new pet resort, boarding house and leash free, fenced-in dog park is open now in Tuscaloosa alongside a modest beer bar for the hounds’ human handlers.

Moving on, we have The Standard, the newest pizza place on the strip. This gastropub serves pizza by the slice, wings, and drinks for students and football fans. Follow them on Instagram to see their daily drink specials!

Now, let’s talk about Strange Brew Coffeehouse, Tuscaloosa’s newest coffee shop also located on the Strip. They opened their doors in January, bringing a Starkville staple to the City of Champions. The Brew specializes in Lattes made with love & crazy tasty original espresso drinks that you can only find at The Brew.  If you’re looking for a Capt’n Crunch Latte, an Albino Squirrel or maybe a Sea Turtle Frappe then Strange Brew is the place for you!

Along with Frappes, Smoothies, tons of Teas(loose & bagged), Iced Coffees/Lattes, our signature Strange Brew Hot Chocolate & the best Caramel Apple Cider in the galaxy.  We proudly bake all of our pastries and goodies at the Brew from scratch!  You’ll find fresh Chocolate Croissants, Muffins, Scones, Coffee Cakes, Vegan and Gluten Free options plus so much more!

Our next featured business is Druid City Makerspace. Think of them as a gym for hobbies! If you’ve always wanted to try a hobby, but the upfront cost and lack of experience was a significant challenge, they are your space! Sign up for a class, membership, or just drop in to meet other people with similar interests and share ideas while making something beautiful!

Moving forward, we have Atomic Cocktail Bar located in Temerson Square. This new bar offers high-end cocktails, beer and wine. Find it directly below Dillard’s Chophouse along Greensboro Avenue. The basement lounge has room for 230 people and aims to match the atmosphere that already exists downtown, with exposed brick walls, brown leather couches, a customized pool table, and more. Andrew Dillard, who owns the restaurant and the new bar, said Atomic will also offer a variety of events, including live music shows, video game nights and trivia contests.
