Choosing the right Tuscaloosa neighborhood can be challenging. To help you in your Tuscaloosa home search we’ve interviewed residents in Tuscaloosa county’s most popular subdivisions. Elizabeth Hinson (The Gray Group’s marketer!) and her family have lived in Forest Glen for three years. Read why they love their neighborhood below!
What drew you to Forest Glen?
Driving into the neighborhood for the first time, we saw families outside playing with their children, and it was easy to see our own family living here. We also loved that the neighborhood has a pool, playground, tennis courts, and a baseball field!
What has been your favorite thing about living in Forest Glen?
Being able to entertain our children without having to leave our neighborhood is wonderful. We walk together to the playground several times a week, and enjoy having our friends over to swim in the summers. My kids love that there are so many kids their age to play with.
What kind of annual neighborhood events do Forest Glen residents enjoy or take part in?
We have a huge Easter egg hunt each year! This year The Barnyard brought a petting zoo and offered pony rides. The neighborhood also goes all out for Halloween with hayrides and fun decorations for the trick or treaters. In the past we have also all gathered for live music, bouncy houses, and food to get to know each other.
What’s spots near Forest Glen do you and your family enjoy?
We can do our every day shopping without going far or battling traffic which is nice. Winn Dixie, CVS, and a few restaurants are only maybe a mile away on Highway 43. We like stopping at Ingram Farms for ice cream after school, and often visit Sokol Park. The neighborhood is also very close to our son’s school.
What would you tell someone looking to purchase to in Forest Glen?
You will love it here. Homes sell quickly, so don’t wait too long to make an offer if you find a home. We are so glad we built in Forest Glen and thankful for the many friendships we have made living here.
